MY UNTEACHABLES

Your greatness is revealed not by the lights that shine upon you, but by the light that shines within you.

(Ray Davis)

A job you'd like to apply to requires an
advanced degree, but you only have a high school diploma. Write a letter
telling us why you deserve consideration.

When I was an ever-elusive stroller-roller, being carefully, pointedly, and didactically driven around the world by my parents, they determined I would become one of two things: the President of the United States or a stripper. I am pleased to inform you that the latter has yet to occur. The prior is also unattractive as I am not keen on international political palates. I believe my parents determined these occupations as promising callings primarily due to my magnetic personality. As I grew into my awkwardness, my parents could immediately see that I was born to be around people.  Every person I encountered I befriended. I embodied a natural perceptiveness, imagination, and affability. I was born to electrify a room.

In my twenty-three years of life, the most prized lessons and advantageous aptitudes are those that I have learned and developed outside the classroom. One cannot be taught to be social, relatable, insightful, or effectually instinctive. Often overlooked, the most valuable asset contributing to the success of a business is people. Too frequently, deal-oriented behaviors dictate our business when the truly critical facet is nurturing relationships.

Education is an entity valued by all, misunderstood by many, and taken for granted by most. The majority of prized lessons to be learned cannot be taught but are established as we grow and personify our experiences. Even more qualities are simply etched in our soul to be discovered and augmented. My passion for learning is in no way reflected in my attainment in the educational system. Born with an insatiable curiosity, I will never stop seeking knowledge and ingenuity. Intangible strengths and innate eccentricities are unique qualities that  set me apart from even your most educationally advanced candidates.

I embody those qualities that cannot be taught, qualities that some are simply born to foster.
